It’s a Lightening McQueen Cake
My dear son was turning two in a few days, the dreaded terrible twos, and I needed to bake a cake. I walked around for days thinking about the cake I was going to make: was it going to be a “Cat in the Hat” or “One fish, two fish, blue fish, red fish” cake? Suffice it to say, I was conflicted. l didn’t want to spend a lot of time making different types of fondant fish. Then an idea suddenly came to me. My son had a Mickey Mouse Cake for his first birthday. Why not continue the theme of car cakes?
Making a lightening McQueen Cake requires the use of a template and a lot of cut-outs. I used a template from here and it was a breeze. What I most enjoyed about making the cake was painting the little car accessories: the tail lights, the lightening on the car, the spoiler. It was lots of fun.
